Big 12 Football: Pop-Tarts Bowl Preview - No. 18 NC State vs. No. 25 Kansas State
Kansas State Wildcats are traveling down to Florida in hopes of warmer weather and a strong finish after the team was hit hard by the transfer portal.
Conversely, North Carolina State is looking for the second ten-win season in program history. However, it won't be easy, as the Wolfpack will be without what is arguably the best linebacker in America, Payton Willis.
After starting the year slowly, the Wolfpack have put together a solid end to the season, winning their last five games after a bounce-back performance from long-time starter Brennan Armstrong. Armstrong did it all for the Wolfpack, leading the team in rushing with 544 yards and accounting for 17 of the team's 36 touchdowns.
Kansas State will have to get a strong showing from their new-look offense after the offensive coordinator departed from the team and lost Will Howard and the team's top two receivers to the transfer portal. Wildcat fans will have D.J. Giddens to look forward to after the sophomore ran for over 1000 yards this season. As for quarterback play, the freshman Avery Johnson has shown flashes of top talent potential this season, and behind a great offensive line, they should put together a great game plan.
This could be one of the best games of the bowl season, with two evenly matched teams meeting up and an endless supply of pop-tarts at play. As the underdogs, the Wolfpack have the talent to win this one, but Kansas State is a team and program that will not go down without a fight.
