Big 12 Football Week 3: Mizzou Walks Off K-State
Week Three brought some more unexpected results for the Big 12 teams. Most played their final nonconference game, while TCU and Houston kicked off conference play.
In what was projected to be one of the best games in the conference, the Kansas State at Missouri game did not disappoint. It came down to a 61-yard field goal by Mizzou as time expired to give K-State its first loss of the season.
Texas Tech and Baylor both got their first wins of the season, each winning over an FCS opponent. West Virginia won the Backyard Brawl in Morgantown. BYU got a win in SEC Country. Kansas is off to another hot start. UCF could potentially be the sleeper team in the league to watch.
After three weeks, five teams remain undefeated – BYU, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and UCF. Oklahoma State lost at home to South Alabama. Iowa State and Cincinnati each lost games they were projected to win.
In the first conference game of the season, TCU had a dominating win over Houston, spoiling the Cougars' first conference game as a member of the Big 12.
