Big 12 Football Week 4: Which Games Should You Watch?

Breaking down which games you should focus on this weekend and which you should avoid altogether.

Week Four is finally here, and what a loaded slate of games there is this week, not only in the Big 12 but in the nation. Last week seemed to be a lousy slate of games, but they all turned out to be fantastic watches. The conference finally did not have the most-watched game of the week this year; the most-watched game with a Big 12 team was the Backyard Brawl, which garnered 2.4 million views. Follow along below as I rank the eight Big 12 games this week.

Kansas State Wildcats quarterback Will Howard (18) runs for a touchdown during the second quarter against the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks at Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium.

Ranking the Big 12 Week 4 Games

1. UCF at Kansas State

This game has the makings to be the best game of the week. A well-coached UCF team is going to Manhattan and playing a Kansas State team that just lost a heartbreaker. This game should come down to the wire and be entertaining from the first whistle to the last.

2. BYU at Kansas

This game will prove who has the power to be conference contenders. Last week, BYU traveled to Arkansas and beat a reasonably decent Razorbacks team, and Kansas, who has looked great, struggled mightily against a less-than-decent Nevada team. This game should be a good watch and maybe even a slugfest.

3. TCU vs. SMU

The 102nd battle of the Iron Skillet should provide fireworks, whether through the play of both teams or how chippy this game could get. It's hard to predict how rivalry games will go, but this game should be a good watch, as I don't see a blowout.

4. Texas Tech at West Virginia

I will be the first to admit I did not think West Virginia would have a better record than the Red Raiders at this point in the season, but here we are. This game has the makings to be a last-possession win type game but could also be a blowout. Regardless, it should be a great game to watch.

5. #3 Texas at Baylor

Baylor hasn't been what everyone thought it would be, and Texas has exceeded expectations so far. But if any coach in the country can find the kryptonite in Texas, it will be Dave Aranda. Do I think Baylor could pull this one off? No. However, I think the Bears can keep it close enough that it is a good watch.

6. #16 Oklahoma at Cincinnati

Oklahoma might be excellent this year, and they will be tested soon, but it won't be this week. This game may start close, but Oklahoma will take over, and this should be a blowout by the end of it. The atmosphere will be great, and it should be a tremendous first-half watch.

7. Houston vs. Sam Houston

Houston didn't look great against TCU last week, and they have a get-right game this week against their neighbors. This game shouldn't be close and should end in a blowout, but last week proved stranger things have happened.

8. Oklahoma State at Iowa State

I'll be honest: I wanted to rate this game higher, mainly because this game will be disgusting. It will be sloppy and chaotic, but it will be entertaining, and that is all we can ask for from this game.

"Fort Worth" Game of the Week

We know that Fort Worth is better than Dallas. So, each week, I will give you the best FBS game of the week, aka the Fort Worth Game of the Week: This is must-see TV.

#6 Ohio State at #9 Notre Dame

Saturday, 6:30 p.m. CT, NBC

"Dallas" Game of the Week

If the "Fort Worth" Game is the best game in FBS, then the "Dallas" Game is obviously the worst game of the week. Don't even bother watching this one.

New Mexico at Massachusetts

Saturday, 2:30 p.m. CT, ESPN+
