Big 12 Football Week 6: Sooners Win Epic Red River Rivalry
No. 3 Texas and No. 12 Oklahoma met in Dallas on Saturday for the annual Red River Rivalry. It was the last time the game would be played as a Big 12 Conference game. Unlike last year’s 49-0 blowout, this game was epic with multiple lead changes.
Texas would tie the game at 27-27 with 6:16 left and take the lead with a 47-yard field goal with 1:22 remaining. Dillon Gabriel would lead the Sooners 75 yards in six plays to score the winning touchdown with 0:23 left in the game. Final score: Oklahoma 34 – Texas 30. With the win, Oklahoma becomes the first Big 12 team to become bowl eligible.

The Big 12 weekend began Friday night with Oklahoma State proclaiming they aren’t dead yet with a win over defending champions Kansas State. UCF, still hoping for its first conference win, returned to the Sunflower State only to suffer another loss, this time to the Jayhawks.
In the night games, Texas Tech easily handled Baylor in the annual BU-TT Bowl. And TCU’s woes continued with an ugly performance in Ames, with Iowa State getting the big win.
