Week 5 is here. Fall is finally here. When the leaves start falling and the weather starts changing, the games seem to matter more and more, and this week is no different. Every Big 12 team has now finished its non-conference games, meaning from here until the rest of the season, these games directly affect who will be playing in Arlington in December.

As we progress into the season, a game that may be the most exciting game of the week will not necessarily be the number one game of the week, as it might generally be. A game that holds more weight for the conference might be number one instead. With that said, follow along below as we begin this week's rankings.

Ranking the Big 12 Week 5 Games

1. Cincinnati at BYU

Heads up, this game is Friday night, but this will still be the best game of the weekend. Cincinnati has been better than expected, primarily because of their defense. A strong defense still anchors BYU, but this game won't be a snore fest. Look for this game to be a one-possession game the whole way.

2. #24 Kansas at #3 Texas

I wanted to put this game number one, but I couldn't bring myself to do it, even given the recent history of this game. Kansas has looked strong, but Texas is trying to prove a statement this year. If Kansas can win the turnover battle, this could be the best game all weekend in college football, but Kansas lacks the athletes on defense to keep this one too close.

3. West Virginia at TCU

Neal Brown has cooled his seat down some, but this game might warm it up again. While West Virginia has been better than anticipated, they might be playing with a backup quarterback against a TCU defense that has improved weekly.

4. Iowa State at #14 Oklahoma

The last three games are all interchangeable to me. Oklahoma has not looked consistent this year, but their offensive ability can make this one a blowout and make it a blowout in a hurry.

5. Baylor at UCF

What is going on in Waco? This does not look like the same program that was just in a conference championship game two seasons ago. Playing at UCF is not easy, which will prove true this weekend. Look for UCF to win their first Big 12 conference game in a big way.

6. Houston at Texas Tech

The only reason I would turn this game on would be to see how a disappointing Red Raiders offense fares with backup QB Henry Columbi getting the start this week. This game could be a low-scoring affair or a blowout for either team, but I won't be watching.

Teams on a bye this week: Kansas State and Oklahoma State

"Fort Worth" Game of the Week

We know that Fort Worth is better than Dallas. So, each week, I will give you the best FBS game of the week, aka the Fort Worth Game of the Week: This is must-see TV.

#11 Notre Dame at #17 Duke

Saturday, 6:30 p.m. CT, ABC

"Dallas" Game of the Week

If the "Fort Worth" Game is the best in FBS, then the "Dallas" Game is obviously the worst game of the week. Don't even bother watching this one.

Utah Tech at Colorado State

Saturday, 6:00 p.m. CT, Mountain West Network
