Big 12 Football Week 8: Which Games Should You Watch?
Week Seven was a good week of Big 12 football; we had the exciting finish between West Virginia and Houston, a great Kansas and Oklahoma State game, and a surprising blowout between TCU and BYU. This week, this could be an even better slate of games, but not every game will warrant your attention. Follow below as I rank the game by "watchability" and importance for conference play.
1. Oklahoma State at West Virginia
While this game, on paper, is not the most enticing matchup, this is a crucial matchup standings-wise. Since entering conference play, OK State has looked like a different team, while the Mountaineers looked to be making a statement this year before losing to Houston last weekend. This game should be entertaining all the way through and provide more clarity into what the rest of the season could look like.
2. TCU at Kansas State
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Well, or maybe not? While these two teams have struggled at times this year, both teams are coming off a week featuring a new quarterback who might be what gets one of them back on track. This game should have everything you want in a game and then some.
3. Baylor at Cincinnati
I believe this game, much like the Oklahoma State at West Virginia, will be important for dictating what the conference standings will look like come the end of the year. The only difference, this will help decide who might finish in the bottom four of the teams. Both of the teams have what it takes to make this an entertaining game and it should be a great game to keep your eye on.
4. Texas Tech at BYU
This is a matchup that features two teams that are surprisingly evenly matched. This game has the potential to be the best game of the weekend, but two possessions could decide the final score. The uncertainty of how this game could go puts it lower on the list but should be worth a watch if you want to see two Big 12 teams battle it out.
5. UCF at #6 Oklahoma
I wanted to put this game higher on the list; I truly did. The issue at hand is that UCF has been one of the more inconsistent teams in the nation, and while that means they could come out and make this matchup a close game, I don't expect that. Three touchdowns or more should decide this game, so I would stay away from this one unless you need something to watch.
6. #8 Texas at Houston
Not much explanation should be needed for this one. The disparity between the talent level of the two teams should be enough that this game should be a blow out. If Texas gets caught sleepwalking this game, it could be worth watching, but besides that, I'd find another game to watch.
Teams on bye this week: Iowa State and Kansas
"Fort Worth" Game of the Week
We know that Fort Worth is better than Dallas. So, each week, I will give you the best FBS game of the week, aka the Fort Worth Game of the Week: This is must-see TV.

"Dallas" Game of the Week
If the "Fort Worth" Game is the best in FBS, then the "Dallas" Game is obviously the worst game of the week. Don't even bother watching this one.
