The TCU Horned Frogs take on the BYU Cougars on Saturday, October 14. Here are the key players on the BYU team that TCU fans should know before the game.

Brigham Young Cougars quarterback Kedon Slovis (10) looks to pass in the second quarter during a college football game between the Brigham Young Cougars and the Cincinnati Bearcats, Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah.

BYU Know Your Foe

QB- Kedon Slovis

Kedon Slovis is a very good rhythmic thrower. He is very talented and has continued the BYU air attack they have always had. TCU needs to be aware of him; he is one of my favorite players to watch, going back to his days at Pitt. He doesn't always put together a great game, but when he does, it is stellar.

RB- LJ Martin

BYU doesn't do a lot of running. However, freshman LJ Martin is the team's leading rusher this season. He is very quick and shifty and can make impressive plays. TCU needs to work hard to slow down his production so he doesn't become a problem.

WR- Chase Martin

Chase Martin, a 6'4" 210 lb. receiver, has been excellent this season, averaging 14.9 yards per catch. He has been one of the biggest weapons on this BYU team. He has quick acceleration, which allows him to gain operation. His height also makes it tough on shorter defenders. TCU needs to make sure he doesn't go deep, or he will be a problem.

LB- Max Tooley

Look for Max Tooley to stand up in this game, especially with Ben Bywater, one of the team's best linebackers, possibly out on Saturday. Tooley has led the team in tackles. He will look to slow down Emani Bailey, which nobody has been able to do all season. TCU needs to be fully prepared even with the absence of Bywater because they will most likely have an alternative game plan if Bywater does not play.

CB- Jakob Robinson

Jakob Robinson leads the team in interceptions and has also been a great defender. He provides excellent coverage on some of the best receivers. With this being Josh Hoover's first start, he must be careful because Robinson will lurk, waiting for that pick. Hoover needs to make his throws count, or it could be a problem.
