Know Your Foe- Texas Longhorns

QBs Quinn Ewers and Malik Murphy

Quinn Ewers is returning to play after an injury but may not play the entire game. The Longhorns will love having him back, as he has been exceptional this season. He has made many crucial deep throws and extended tons of plays. Maalik Murphy is a solid quarterback and has done a decent job filling in for Ewers. However, he has had those young quarterback mistakes that kept games close and nail-biting. This situation makes it very tough for the Frogs because they once again have to prepare for two quarterbacks. TCU must be ready for both quarterbacks, or it could be bad.

RB Jonathon Brooks

Jonathon Brooks is one of the most talented running backs in the nation, and he is only a sophomore. Brooks has excellent quickness and field vision. He is a utility player as he can catch passes as well. He does exceptionally well on screen routes, as he is very shifty and can break free past defenders. TCU needs to slow him down so the offense doesn't get established.

WRs Xavier Worthy and Adonai Mitchell

The Texas Longhorns have a top-five receiving core, if not the top one. They are headed by two insanely talented players - Xavier Worthy and Adonai Mitchell. They are two different types of players, which makes this offense very hard to stop. Worthy runs very quick routes and bites hard on those routes, which creates separation. He creates space before the defensive back can react, allowing the quarterback to make easy throws. Mitchell is a very physical receiver who has strong hands. He loves going up for the 50/50 ball and contesting them, especially near the lines. TCU's defensive backs are very talented, but they will just have to match the physicality of these two receivers the whole game.

LB Jaylan Ford

Jaylan Ford is one of the best linebackers in the Big 12. He is very explosive and gets to the line pretty quickly. He loves to be physical and make offensive lines work very hard. He leads the Longhorns in total tackles. TCU's offensive line will have to work very hard to keep him out, or it will be a nightmare for Josh Hoover.
