TCU Commit Hauss Hejny Leads Aledo To Record-Breaking State Championship Win

TCU 2024 quarterback commit Hauss Hejny was a threat on the ground and in the air, leading the Bearcats to their second consecutive State Championship victory.
In this story:

If they haven't, TCU football fans should learn the name - Hauss Hejny is the real deal. A DFW native, Hauss had no offers just a year ago. A lot can change in one year, though; ask him. In one year, the TCU commit has placed in the top 11 in the elite 11, received an invitation to play in the Under Armor All-American game on January 6th, and has led his high school to a Texas High School football record of their 12th State title.

Aledo High School, just west of Fort Worth, won back-to-back state titles and extended their winning streak to 30 games at the hands of Hejny. Hauss, the second-year starter for the Bearcats, finished with a record of 30-2. The "Boss" Hauss finished the title game with 202 passing yards and 77 rushing yards, accounting for three total touchdowns.

Hejny found his team trailing to start the game, an unfamiliar sight for the Bearcats, but quickly showed his poise and leadership ability to rally the team for 24 unanswered points to end the first half. Hauss was doing it all, hitting his receivers in stride and racing for the chains to extend the team's drives. Hauss could efficiently deliver college-level throws, including a 69-yard touchdown to receiver Kaydon Finley. Aledo beat Smithson Valley 51-8.

Hejny would say after his performance, "I'm looking forward to a fresh start and getting in and working because TCU is my dream school, and I've always wanted to play in that purple and black."

Hauss will be looking to compete with quarterback Josh Hoover for the position when fall camp opens next season. With a bright future ahead of him, TCU fans are eager to see what the DFW native can do once he steps on campus.
