Frogs In The Pros: Max Duggan Joins The Chargers Roster
After initially being placed on the Chargers practice squad, Max Duggan has now been called up to sign with the 53-man roster. This was after the Chargers' starting quarterback, Justin Herbert, went down with an injury to his hand in the second quarter of Los Angeles' 24-7 loss to the Denver Broncos.
Herbert visited two hand specialists on Monday when they determined that surgery was needed and that he would not return for the season's final four games. Easton Stick will get his first-ever NFL start on Thursday night in Las Vegas against the Raiders. Duggan, who was selected in the seventh round, will back him up. He had 3,698 passing yards and 32 passing touchdowns last season for the Horned Frogs. He will be reunited on the sidelines with his former Horned Frog teammates Derius Davis and Quentin Johnson.
This is exciting news for Max Duggan, as he will have his first opportunity to be on the sidelines for a regular season game. Yes, Easton Stick will be the starter, but you never know what can happen. Duggan is a hard worker, and I know he will be ready if needed to perform for the Chargers. Tune in on Thursday night on Prime TV to see him on the sidelines, and who knows, maybe in the game if Easton Stick has a rocky start or gets injured. Any way you put it, I am super excited for him and look forward to seeing what he will do with this amazing opportunity. Good luck, Max!
