Saints Pick Kendre Miller In Third Round Of NFL Draft
Kendre Miller will begin his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints. He was drafted with the 71st overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, a the third-round selection. Miller was projected to go in the fourth or fifth round and hearing his name earlier was well earned.
Miller gets a Day 1 opportunity with the Saints, who currently roster Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams. Kamara faces a legal battle that could limit the number of games played in the 2023 season. Should he miss any time, Miller is the second running back on the depth chart for New Orleans.
In 2022, Miller rushed for 1,400 yards and 17 touchdowns, the eighth-most nationally. Given his draft stock on Day 2, the Saints expect Miller to be involved from the get-go.
He joins Quentin Johnston and Steve Avila as TCU Horned Frogs selected in the 2023 draft. Johnston went in the first round, 21st to the Chargers, while Avila was selected in the second round, 36th to the Rams.
