Allan’s Perfect Score Highlights TCU Rifle’s Opener

Stephanie Allan's perfect score propels TCU Rifle to their first win of the season.

Stephanie Allan etched her name into TCU history this weekend in Maryland, garnering a perfect score in air rifle, a feat only accomplished by five other Horned Frogs. 

The team finished the match shooting 2,356 in smallbore and 2,382 in air rifle. TCU finished with an overall aggregate score of 4,738, which was the 12th-best score in program history and the ninth-best smallbore score in school history.

The team finished with the top two total scores and six of the top 10 full scores for the match. Allan and Katie Zaun had the top two overall scores for the day.*

TCU placed first, while fielding an all-women's team, beating out a coed Navy team, a coed VMI team, and a VMI all-women's team.

Stephanie Grundsoee placed first in the smallbore competition, and Allan and Zaun shared third place. The team finished with three of the top four marks for smallbore.

Only four Horned Frogs competed in air rifle due to an equipment malfunction for Grundsoee. They finished with four of the top five marks, led by Allan's perfect score and Zuan's 599. 

Before their next match, four athletes, Allan, Jeanne Haverhill, Anne White, and  Zaun, will participate in the first part of the Olympic Trials beginning September 28. 

TCU will be back in action on October 8 at Georgia State.
