Beach Volleyball: TCU Remains Undefeated Through Week Two of the Season

The Horned Frogs swept all four of their opponents at the Tampa Tournament.

The TCU Beach Volleyball team is officially a wagon.

No. 3 TCU traveled to Tampa, Florida this past weekend to play four games over two days, similar to last week’s tournament style. Riding the momentum from their 4-0 start to open the season, the Horned Frogs defeated all of their opponents again moving to 8-0 on the year. This included their first ranked wins of the season, taking down both No. 10 Georgia State and No. 2 Florida State.

Four Frogs provided perfect 4-0 weekends: Daniela Alvarez, Maria Gonzalez, Hailey Hamlett, and Tania Moreno.

The Horned Frogs scored their first ranked sweep of the season Saturday and earned their highest ranked win of the season Sunday.

Beat Tampa 5-0

This is the second victory in school history from the Frogs over Tampa.

With No. 1 UCLA losing at the hands of No. 4 USC and the Horned Frogs defeating No. 2 Florida State, TCU could soon be anticipating the No. 1 spot. The next AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) poll drops Tuesday, March 7.

Next up: The Frogs return to Fort Worth next weekend for their home opener, March 10-11. They are scheduled to play Texas A&M University - Kingsville, LSU, and Southern Miss.

It will be a chance for fans to come see the possible No. 1 ranked Horned Frogs before students are dismissed for Spring Break.
