TCU Track and Field: Tyree Price Hired as Assistant Coach
Khadevis Robinson, Director of TCU track and field, hired Tyree Price as an assistant coach for the Horned Frog Track and Field team to serve as the jumps coach.
The 2020 USTFCCCA Women's South Regional Coach of the Year comes to the Frogs after spending the previous two seasons with USC. There he helped coach five First-Team NCAA All-Americans, 14 NCAA West Regional Qualifiers and 17 All-Pac-12 Student-Athletes. He even helped coach Allie Jones, the 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships runner-up in the pentathlon.
"Tyree is a great addition to our staff," Robinson said. "He has coached at some of the top academic universities in the nation."
Before USC, Price coached at Columbia University for the 2021 season and at Bethune-Cookman for the previous eight, where he won the 2020 USTFCCCA Women's South Regional Coach of the Year. He was the first non-ACC or SEC coach to win the award.
He began his coaching career at his alma mater, South Carolina State University, where he served as the head cross country and track and field coach for six seasons.
Price was a member of the SC State track and field team from 1995-1998 and was even a member of the football team in 1995.
This hire adds an extremely impressive resume to the TCU track and field staff. This is a great sign to expect success in the near future.
