Two weeks ago, Abby Faber took the field at Lupton Stadium to throw out the ceremonial first pitch in front of a Saturday afternoon crowd.

If you don’t know who Abby Faber is, check out our very own Tyler Brown’s story about her journey here.

For the weekend series against San Diego, Abby and her family flew down from Iowa to take in a baseball game at Lupton Stadium for the first time.

The Faber family are Iowa State Cyclone fans, but they are the lone Big 12 school without a baseball program. With that, they cheer on the Frogs anytime they get on the diamond.

After throwing out the first pitch, Abby and her family took a photo with the entire TCU Baseball team.

Abby said it was good to throw out the first pitch.

Abby’s father, Steve Faber, told me that they are optimistic that Abby is done with surgeries and long hospital stays due to her cerebral palsy. He also said that the family was excited to get to Texas and the nice spring weather, leaving snowy Iowa.

Abby’s mother, Jenny Faber, said that Abby is very excited to start high school in the fall. For any kid that is a big transition, but Abby is more than ready to take on that transition.
