WATCH: Dean Curley Has Three Homers In One Game!

Tennessee Volunteers shortstop Dean Curley has a legendary game that put him in the record books
In this story:

It’s not every day that someone goes for three homers and nine RBIs as a true freshman, but that rare occasion was the case for a specific Tennessee Volunteer.

Dean Curley is a true freshman SS/3B from La Verne, California. According to Perfect Game, he was the 129th-ranked player and 33rd shortstop in the nation before joining the Tennessee Volunteers and getting a significant amount of reps with Zane Denton still absent and Ariel Antigua injured. The Northview High School prospect has made an absolutely huge impact on the Volunteers since joining.

In 23 at-bats, Curley has put together a batting average of .348 with nine runs, eight hits, 17 RBIs, three walks, and six home runs. However, most of those stats came together in their latest competition against Kansas State on Tuesday. Curley had a 3-for-5 day with three home runs, nine RBIs, and three runs. Not only did he have three home runs, but one of the big-time shots was a grand slam! Tennessee hasn’t had this kind of bat power from a freshman since Blake Burke’s standout season. Curley was the spark that the Volunteers needed throughout the day and can be a big factor moving forward.
