Panthers GM Confirms Interest In Hendon Hooker

Carolina Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer confirmed that the team has met with Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker and are interested in his skillset.

Quarterback Hendon Hooker continues to make waves during interviews. Several teams came away impressed with him at the Reese's Senior Bowl, and it seems that trend is continuing at the NFL Combine.

The Carolina Panthers are one of a handful of teams searching for a quarterback. The team started several signal callers during the 2023 season, highlighted by Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, and PJ Walker.

The team will meet with several quarterbacks during the predraft process. The top group is highlighted by Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, Will Levis, and Anthony Richardson, but some executives think Hooker may be creeping into that top group.

Carolina Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer confirmed the organization has met with Hooker during the predraft process and that they share a mutual interest. Hooker logged 58 touchdowns and just five interceptions during two starting seasons on Rocky Top.

While Hooker can't participate in on-field drills, he expects to be running by the end of March and says he will be ready for a full NFL training camp. Hooker got two legitimate years of experience with the Virginia Tech Hokies before deciding to transfer to Tennessee. The rest is history, but Hooker underscored he always knew he would end up where he is.

"I knew that one day I'd be in the position I'm in today from the hard work and faith I had in the process.
