Former NFL GM Praises Darnell Wright

Tennessee offensive tackle Darnell Wright has had a strong showing at the Reese's Senior Bowl, and one former NFL executive has taken notice.
In this story:

Offensive tackle Darnell Wright's draft stock was volatile entering the week. Some analysts had him as their top tackle, while others made mock drafts where he didn't make the first 50 picks.

The Reese's Senior Bowl has evened things out, and the public is beginning to come around on Wright. His size, personal evaluation, and pedigree are translatable to the professional level, and he's putting on a show in practice.

Former NFL general manager Mike Tannenbaum lauded Wright for his exceptional play. It's tough to find starting tackles in the NFL, but Tannenbaum thinks highly of Wright.

"This guy has it all. He's a 40+ game starter at Tennessee, All-SEC, and he's had an unbelievable week. I think he's working himself into the first round. You put on the Alabama tape; he was dominant, and you're seeing more of the same here. He's a smooth mover, long arms, strong, great fundamentals. I don't see any holes in his game. When you look to project to the next level, he has the prototypical size and skillset to be a frontline offensive tackle."

Other scouts share the same opinion. Wright is an elite in-person evaluation bound to impress, and the Reese's Senior Bowl gave him the platform to do so.
