Former Vols RB Eric Gray Announces Transfer Destination

Eric Gray has now announced his transfer destination from Tennessee. Gray announced moments ago he will transfer to Oklahoma.

Earlier in the year, Gray said, "I really want to take it to another level for my sophomore year, really being that game-changer this year."

He continued about finding a new level, "For me, it all started in high school. If you want to be a great player, you have to be consistent. My best season is yet to come. Wanting to be one of the greatest to play the game-- last year was last year, but you've got to do it again."

Gray's career bio at Tennessee states: "Talented running back who has played in all 23 games and made five starts since arriving at Tennessee ... Led the team in rushing and had the second-most receptions on the team as a sophomore in 2020 ... Has scored 10 total touchdowns in his last 12 games dating back to the 2019 season ... Finished his freshman season with back-to-back dazzling performances, combining for 366 total yards and four scores against Vanderbilt and Indiana ... His 246 rushing yards against the Commodores is the most by a true freshman in Tennessee history, surpassing a record set in 1997 by Jamal Lewis ... Recorded the second-longest rushing touchdown in program history and the 10th longest in SEC history on a 94-yard run in the second quarter against Vanderbilt in 2019."

Heading into this evening, VR2 on SI had heard conflicting information on Gray, as he has remained in Knoxville.
