It's Gameday!
It’s been 106 days since the public has seen Tennessee tee it up and 154 days since the Vols have played at Neyland Stadium. Today, Tennessee football finally returns. The annual Orange and White spring game is set for 2:30 p.m. Eastern. In addition to just the feeling of watching the Vols on the field, or if you’re lucky enough, being back inside of Neyland, there are many storylines to monitor.
All eyes will be on the expected starting quarterback for 2023, Joe Milton. Hendon Hooker recently praised the young quarterback, who showed a lot of promise after Hooker went down with an injury last year. Nico Iamaleava will have a lot to prove as well, trying to compete with Milton and prove that he has what it takes to be a star at this level. In addition to Hooker, the offense saw key departures at wide receiver.
The responsibility of replacing Jalin Hyatt and Cedric Tillman will not fall on one man’s shoulders, but Bru McCoy will certainly play a big part. Some young guys will likely need to step up, and we may get a glimpse into who that will be today. This game has a lot of questions, and some will be left unanswered, but the game itself is enough to be excited about. Happy gameday, Vols!
The game is available for streaming on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.
