South Carolina wide receiver Antwane "Juice" Wells Jr. hasn't had the start to the season that he expected. The 2022 all-conference pass catcher has been banged up all year and has only registered three catches through four games. That number won't increase this weekend, as South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer has ruled him out against Tennessee.

Wide receiver Xavier Legette has mitigated the loss, leading the SEC in receiving yards through four games. Still, Wells was their preseason No. 1 playmaker, and their offense is at its best with him. Tennessee knows that all too well - last season, Wells had 11 catches for 177 yards against the Vols. He totaled over 900 yards and six touchdowns in a less-than-stellar 2022 South Carolina passing offense. They've managed to find a groove this year and are passing at a high clip without Wells, but missing him still hurts.

Tennessee now must turn its attention toward Legette. They can dare the young receivers to make plays on the road early in the game - if they make plays, you can shift the strategy, but letting Legette start the game like South Carolina did last year would be a headache for Tennessee and this coaching staff.
