Just In: Vols Add Transfer Kicker McGrath from USC

Tennessee now has its first official commitment of the Josh Heupel era, and it comes in the form of transfer Kicker Chase McGrath. The Redshirt Junior from California announced the news moments ago via his Instagram.

McGrath originally walked on at USC before making an impact for the Trojans over the course of his career.

According to his career bio: "He has hit 32-of-42 field goals, with a long of 52 yards, and 118-of-119 PATs in his career, and he has a tackle and a fumble recovery. He has appeared in 30 games in his career."

McGrath will join J.T. Carver, who came to Tennesee in the 2021 class, as the duo will look to replace Brent Cimaglia, who announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal last month.

In 2019, McGrath was an all-conference selection and he was voted as USC's Special Teams Player of the Year.

Sources have indicated to VR2 on SI that McGrath intends to leave California on Saturday to join Tennessee, who has already started off-season workouts.
