Lane Kiffin Posts Son's QB Workout, Tells Tennessee To "Bring Him Home"
Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is one of the most polarizing figures in college football. From social media antics to viral fan interactions, Kiffin always stays in the headlines.
Kiffin ensures he remains visible during the offseason calendar for recruiting and fun. On Sunday, he posted a video of his son Knox Kiffin in a private quarterback workout. The younger Kiffin is in the class of 2028 and is dedicated to becoming a quarterback. Knox is trained by 3DQB SoCal, a quarterback training group specializing in biomechanics and motion analysis. Last week, his father jokingly tweeted that Knox’s top five schools were Oregon, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Ole Miss.
On Sunday, Lane took things to the next level. He retweeted one of Knox’s tweets, saying, “Bring the boy home,” tagging Tennessee, where he coached in 2009, the year Knox was born. The relationship between Kiffin and Tennessee has strained since he left, but Kiffin always speaks fondly of his time in Knoxville.
2028 is a long way away, and it's far too early to speculate about the younger Kiffin. He is currently a 5-7 seventh grader; he may be a great prospect, especially under his father's tutelage. However, to cast expectations would be unfair to any prospect his age, and we shouldn't change our standards because of his family tree. Nonetheless, it's an interesting subplot to monitor moving forward if Knox becomes a top-flight recruit. Until then, expect a lot more trolling and confusion from Lane Kiffin.
