LIVE Updates: Tennessee vs. Austin Peay
The Tennessee Volunteers are officially underway in Knoxville, Tennessee, against Austin Peay.

We are now underway in Neyland Stadium. The Vols are playing in front of their home crowd for the first time since 2022, a year that saw them finish 11-2 and win a New Year's 6 Bowl Game. They hope to replicate that success this year, but it all starts with Austin Peay today.
First Quarter
- (0-0), 15:00 - Austin Peay opens with the football.
- (0-0), 13:36 - Austin Peay quarterback Mike DiLiello finds green grass for a 45-yard rush, getting all the way down to the Tennessee 22-yard line.
- (0-3), 11:06 - Kicker Maddux Trujillo splits the uprights from 45 yards out to give Austin Peay the lead.
- (0-3), 10:11 - Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III tries to link up with two receivers downfield but narrowly misses both, and Tennessee goes three-and-out on its first drive. They punt away to Austin Peay, who takes over on their own 41-yard line.
- (0-3), 7:58 - Inside linebacker Aaron Beasley makes a tackle for loss behind the line-of-scrimmage on 3rd & 7 to force a punt. Tennessee will start its second drive on their own 24-yard line.
- (0-3), 6:52 - The offense stalls again after two throws that could have been caught fell to the turf. The Vols punted away, but the Austin Peay returner fumbled, and Tennessee defensive back Warren Burrell picked tit up on the 13-yard line.
- (3-3), 5:53 - Milton misses wide receiver Bru McCoy in the red zone, so the Vols are forced to settle for a field goal.
- (3-3), 4:13 - Corner Tamarion McDonald breaks up a pass on third down, but the Governors go for it on fourth down and get Tennessee to jump offsides.
- (3-3), 2:23 - Beasley flies through the A-gap on third down for an easy sack. Tennessee gets the ball on their own 44-yard line.

Second Quarter
- (3-3), 14:56 - Milton leaves a ball inside on fourth down in the red zone for a Tennessee turnover.
- (3-6), 8:15 - Trujillo makes his second field goal of the day from 33 yards out after a long Austin Peay drive.
- (6-6), 4:55 - Tennessee hits their second field goal of the game after marching down the field.
- (6-6), 2:19 - The Vols stop Austin Peay quickly and get the ball back. They get it in a two-minute drill on their own 33-yard line.
- (13-6), 0:15 - Milton finds the end zone on 3rd & goal for Tennessee's first touchdown of the game.

Third Quarter
- (20-6), 13:30 - Milton starts the second half off well, finding wide receiver Ramel Keyton in the red zone for his first passing touchdown of the day.
- (20-6), 11:54 - Corner Kamal Hadden makes a really nice pass breakup on 3rd & long to stop Austin Peay. Tennessee will get the ball on its own 30-yard line.
- (20-6), 10:55 - Tennessee goes three-and-out, quickly punting the ball back to Austin Peay.
- (20-6), 9:03 - Safety Wesley Walker flies through on 4th & 5 for the sack. Tennessee takes over on Austin Peay's 48-yard line.
- (23-6), 6:33 - Charles Campbell makes his third field goal of the day for the Vols.
- (23-6), 2:04 - Beasley flies through the middle on fourth down for his second sack of the game.
- (23-6), 0:16 - Milton hits Keyton on a screen pass, but after he gets the first down, Keyton fumbled. Austin Peay takes over in their own territory.

Fourth Quarter
- (23-6), 13:03 - Hadden makes another play, intercepting his first pass of the season and setting Tennessee up on their own 35-yard line.
- (23-13), 9:01 - DiLiello finds wide receiver Trey Goodman for a 52-yard touchdown.
- (30-13), 8:03 - Tight end McCallan Castles takes a screen pass 43 yards to the house, following a great downfield block from McCoy.
- (30-13), 0:54 - Tennessee gets a goal-line stand to end the game.

Tennessee Injury Report: Austin Peay
- Nico Iamaleava, QB - IN. According to WBIR Channel 10, the talented true freshman was battling a wrist injury leading up to kickoff, but he will be available against the Governors.
- DeSean Bishop, RB - OUT. According to head coach Josh Heupel, true freshman running back DeSean Bishop won't miss the entire season. Still, he will be sidelined for multiple months after suffering an injury in practice.
- Cooper Mays, C - OUT. Mays underwent a "minor procedure" before the year and could be ready for week three against Florida.
- Keenan Pili, ILB - OUT. Pili suffered an upper-body injury last week against Virginia and will be out for several weeks, according to Heupel. Expect Elijah Herring and Arion Carter to assume some of those snaps.
- Elijah Simmons, DT - OUT. Simmons didn't make his season debut last week and won't against Austin Peay, though there is optimism here.
- Tyree Weathersby, DL - OUT. True freshman defensive end Tyree Weathersby will miss the entire season after suffering an injury in practice.
