NFL Draft Expert Says Jaylen Wright Could Be The No. 1 RB
Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright has been a big winner in the NFL predraft process. He gained many fans after his junior season at the University of Tennessee when he became the team's first 1,000-yard rusher since the 2015 season.
ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. was on record saying Wright would be a big riser through the draft process, and after Wright's impressive performance at the NFL Combine, Kiper doubled down on his claim.
"All Wright did was run a lightning-quick 4.38 40-yard dash, which ranked second at his position, and put up an 11-foot-2 broad jump, which was best among running backs... Wright is now firmly in the mix to be the top back off the board in April's draft." - ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. on Jaylen Wright
He didn't have as much workload put on him as other top running backs going through this process, which is a win for NFL evaluators. Furthermore, he's only 20 years old and will be 21 for the duration of his rookie season. So, you have a productive, young running back from an SEC school, which is already enticing for NFL executives. He's now measured in as one of the most athletic backs at the NFL Combine.
