Spencer Rattler Looking To Swing Another Tennessee Game For Carolina

South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler has been the No. 1 SEC starter this year - how should the Tennessee Volunteers approach him this weekend?
In this story:

South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler has begun to make a name for himself during his senior season in Columbia. Through four games, he has already reached the 1,200-yard mark and has an impressive touchdown to interception ratio of 3.5 to 1.

He is the top SEC quarterback this season, checking in at No. 3 in passing yardage, No. 5 in passing touchdowns, and No. 3 in turnover rate among all in-conference starters starters. The impressive thing about Rattler has been how he can handle a bad game. After a shaky performance in Athens against Georgia, the Gamecocks matched up at home with Mississippi State, and he stepped up to perform well once again.

In last week's win, Rattler threw for 288 yards with a stunning 90% completion rate. His three touchdowns also helped his yards per completion average of 14 throughout that game. He is the catalyst for this South Carolina team. Rattler has yet to have a game with under 250 passing yards and has had a yards-per-completion average of over 5 in every contest.

Last season, Rattler was very successful against Tennessee in their matchup in Columbia. He went 30/37 (81%) for 438 yards and six touchdown passes in a 63-38 win for the Gamecocks over the Vols. He was able to expose holes in the Tennessee defense all night long and took advantage of it.

However, this year's game is now in Neyland Stadium, and Rattler must play in a hostile environment. South Carolina has yet to win away from Columbia this season. Their losses occurred in Athens against Georgia and in week one against North Carolina in Charlotte. It will take a lot as a team to win in Knoxville. But Rattler has proven that he can get it done with his great arm talent that has been displayed this season.
