Tennessee LB Peterson Enters Transfer Portal

Tennessee LB Peterson Enters Transfer Portal

JJ Peterson created plenty of hype leading into the start of his Tennessee career, but he was never able to make an impact on the field for the Vols. Peterson was the highest-rated signee in Jeremy Pruitt's 2018 class, however, VR2 on SI has learned that he has entered the transfer portal.

Peterson appeared in 13 games as a redshirt freshman in 2019 and totaled 11 tackles, but he did not make a move as a redshirt sophomore, and he ultimately left the team for an extended time during the season. A source close to Peterson indicated that he hoped to make a return, but that is not the case now.

Tennessee's linebacker depth remains extremely thin, as there is the possibility of a return for Quavaris Crouch and Henry To'o To'o
