Head coach Rick Barnes lands yet another transfer for next season. On Friday, Dalton Knecht signed with Tennessee. It is the third transfer the Vols have gotten throughout this offseason.

Knecht announced he was leaving Northern Colorado on March 23rd. This followed a season with a 12-20 overall record and a 6-12 record in conference play for the Bears. The season officially ended for the team on March 5th when they lost to Montana State, 84-73, in the second round of the Big Sky tournament. Knecht finished with 26 points and eight rebounds as he shot 55% from the field in that game.

In his last season with NCU, Knecht finished averaging 20.2 points a game. He was the best scorer in the conference. He also averaged 7.2 rebounds, making him top ten in the Big Sky in that stat, a wild thing for a guard to accomplish. He was also top five in the Big Sky in field goal percentage (47.9%).

A 6-foot-6-inch, 200-pound guard can easily be a threat wherever he ends up. He can overpower other players going against him in his position. This leads to many shots closer to the rim due to a slashing mentality.

He will fit into the Volunteer system nicely with his presence inside. He can be a catalyst for lots of offensive movement, both with and without the basketball. Multiple scouting reports also point to a sneakily good pull-up three-point shot as well. The offense has always been a question mark for Tennessee hoops. However, with Knecht now in the mix, perhaps the Vols have some scoring in their arsenal.
