Halftime Report: Tennessee vs. Missouri

The first half hasn't been perfect for the Tennessee Volunteers. Missouri got an early lead behind their streaky shooting and solid defense around the basket. While the Volunteers kept things competitive, they are at a deficit heading into the second half.

Guard Zakai Zeigler had an encouraging first half. While Zeigler has been one of Tennessee's most impactful players, he has struggled with offensive efficiency in several games. He has logged nine points and several assists at the half.

Head coach Rick Barnes has done an excellent job of getting his team to execute will after halftime. While the Volunteers aren't efficient on offense, they are one of the best transition teams in college basketball. They can quickly turn passing lane steals into easy layups, which bodes well for them in the second half.

Ultimately, the game depends on whether Mizzou cools down from behind the arc. Thus far, they have been incredibly efficient on threes, especially for one of the worst road teams in the country. Head coach Dennis Gates has instilled a fire in his time, which has translated into their first half play. Tennessee must come out with that same fire in the second half to beat the Tigers.
