Tennessee Volunteers point guard Zakai Zeigler has an added incentive for Thursday's game. Volunteer Country spoke with his mother to delve into him and his brother.

With the Volunteers set to take on the Peacocks on Thursday, it is apparent that the big storyline is the showdown between Zakai Zeigler and his brother Armoni. Recently, Zakai's mom and Armoni's stepmother, Charmane, spoke with Volunteer Country to talk about both athletes.

She talked about Zakai a bit. "He's fearless and self-motivated, with a natural drive and an incredible motor. He's extremely coachable, and no matter how well he does, he always wants to grow more! Zakai is his own toughest critic. His never-give-up and "never let 'em see you sweat" mentality sets him apart.

She also talked spoke about what makes Armoni stand out. "Armoni has a natural talent that can't be taught. He doesn't have to put much effort into making amazing moves. Being the only freshman at St. Peter's this year has given him an even greater advantage in growing and thriving. He's willing to listen, learn, and apply. I'm proud of his growth throughout this year." She dove deeper into the best trait on the court for each prospect.

Zakai: "Speed, the way he sees every inch of that court and ... his Defense defense defense!!!! Zakai is and has always been a pest on the court. That will always be my ultimate favorite part of his game. There is nothing like a mean steal. Also, the way he sees that court is everything. His quick passes get me excited. He knows how to draw that defense, make those passes, and get the assists up. I love that!"

Armoni: "That's easy. Give him a lane, and he's dunking every time! You better watch out because the baby boy has bounce. He can also score from the perimeter, but his dunks are my ultimate favorite part. Armoni has put on so many shows playing games in the park and even made ESPN's top 10 this year. His dunks are most definitely my favorite part of his game."

"They were both always naturally athletic with both basketball and football. They'd spend hours outside playing ball and never get tired. Zakai is older, so naturally, there was a leadership there. So when Zakai did something, Armoni had to make sure we all knew he could do it too... and he could. They always shared the same interests, so it was easy for them to work out, play in the park, etc. Zakai was a little more driven because he really didn't have many other hobbies. Armoni loves his video games, dirt bikes, and things, but if Z took them to the court or the trainer, Armoni would be down for it. Which was most of the times they were together."

She was asked how the family would support her during the game. "I can't speak for them all. I'm sure it will be hard. Personally, I can't help but cheer them on individually, but if you go up against us, I'm always screaming Go Vols! However, I'd love to see Armoni's team go far if they get past us. I just really want this for Coach Barnes and our seniors. The loser will definitely get trolled by the family, but it's all in love."

She finally gave her prediction. "If we come out being the team we are and at our best, I think Vol hoops will sweep it, but if we allow them to get off to a good start, get comfortable, and get a lead, that may be difficult to come back from, I'd like to say it's a definite, but I think both teams are going to come with a chip on their shoulders and give a great game. I'm so nervous because it really can go either way."
