Brody Keefe Breaks Down Most Recent Tennessee Visit
2026 four-star wide receiver Brody Keefe (Charlotte, N.C.) visited the Tennessee Volunteers this past week and caught up with Volunteer Country after his trip.
Myers Park High School wide receiver Brody Keefe has made an early national name for himself. He logged 41 receptions for 599 yards and 11 touchdowns during his sophomore season. Keefe reports offers from 19 programs, highlighted by Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina, and Tennessee. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, he ranks as the No. 129 prospect in the 2026 class.
Keefe made his third trip to Knoxville, Tennessee, over the weekend, making Tennessee the place he's visited most, alongside Ohio State and South Carolina. "I have a great relationship with every coach there," Keefe told Volunteer Country after his visit. "Even a couple of the players. I don't even know how to describe the feeling. The connection is a really big thing for me."
Tennessee tries to show recruits a different part of its program each time a recruit is on campus. "It felt like it wasn't just football," Keefe said. "I got to know the coaches more personally, kind of seeing how they are outside of football. Just being there longer than practice was a big thing for me, kind of seeing how they are outside of football."
Keefe has several major programs pushing for him early, and the Vols have done a nice job of sticking out from the rest. "It kind of feels like I'm not even talking to a coach; it's like I'm talking to another person, almost like a friend. I have a really good bond with several of the coaches, and that's a cool thing to have," he explained. "It's not just football there. There's so much you can do around the campus; I like going to the Knoxville area mountains a lot. I think Tennessee has a good variety."
Ohio State wide receivers coach Brian Hartline is the top name at the position around college football, and he's taken a major liking to Keefe. Several other notable wide receiver coaches also have, and it begs the question of what Keefe's relationship with Tennessee wide receivers coach Kelsey Pope looks like. "He's really hardworking and determined," Keefe noted. "Just being able to see how he operates in practice and how high-tempo they run their offense; he develops his guys, and that's an important thing for me to see."
While Keefe is still enjoying the process and working through his options, he admitted he could see the fit at Tennessee if he chose to play his college football in Knoxville. "Their OC [Joey Halzle] gave us a rundown on their offense and how they run it. A lot of their plays are based off big explosives, and that's a thing I excel in. They spread their offense out to get 1-on-1 matchups, and I thrive in settings like that."
"There's an amazing feeling when you step onto the campus. It doesn't feel like you're at an ordinary college. They have sports, the education is great, being downtown - it's more than just a college. It's that feeling you get when you step on campus that makes that relationship special."
