Tennessee had an amazing recruiting weekend, headlined by many five-star recruits. One of those headliners was 2025 five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham, who's one of the top pass catchers in his recruiting cycle. The Vols have been working on him hard for the past few months, and they are beginning to make progress after he visited for the Georgia game.

Cunningham hails from Ackerman, Mississippi, and plays his high school football at Choctaw County. The 6-3, 185-pounder caught up with Volunteer Country following his trip to Knoxville, Tennessee.

"It was great; I enjoyed it. Even though they lost, I still enjoyed it. I know they will get better, and Georgia is a great team, but Tennessee played hard until the end of the game, and the atmosphere was crazy," the 2025 five-star says. "The fans were definitely involved; they were so loud I couldn't hear what the people beside me were saying, and I loved looking at all of the orange clothing all over the stadium."

Cunningham had the chance to speak with some of the coaches, and it was very clear what their message to him was. "I got to talk to Coach [Kelsey] Pope and Coach [Kody] Cook, and it went pretty well. The conversations were primarily about life and how bad they want me." Being a priority is important to Cunningham, and the coaches have let him know how they feel at Tennessee. "I definitely feel like a priority there; I have a strong relationship with the coach; they call me about every other day and have good conversations with me, and I feel love from them. Coach Pope has told me that I have a chance to start my freshman year if I keep putting the hard work in and getting better every day."

Each program offers unique benefits, but the Vols' approach to his recruitment has caught his attention. "Tennessee knows how to recruit. If I see Tennessee on somebody's list of top schools, I always am like, 'Yeah, I understand why that's one of their top schools.' Because they know how to recruit, it feels like it's all love there. There's definitely a vibe there. They have a great fan base, and they're loud!!!" He also says, "I will visit them during the spring, and Tennessee will definitely be in my Top 10!" He then mentioned that he plans to narrow his list down around January.
