The Tennessee Volunteers did their best to have a productive June. They hosted over 30 players on visits, laying out a unique pitch to each. After a busy month on the recruiting trail, it's time to see how they did, and those festivities begin later this afternoon when four-star wide receiver Braylon Staley (Aiken, S.C.) announces his college decision.

Staley plans to announce at 4:00 PM EST. His finalists are Clemson, Miami, North Carolina, and Tennessee. He took official visits to each program this summer and thoroughly weighed his options before deciding. Three weeks ago, Tennessee seemed to be an insider looking in, but his official visit has swayed some things toward the Vols.

Tennessee is taking four wide receivers in the 2024 cycle, and they haven't been shy about letting people know who they are. Mike Matthews, Amari Jefferson, Ryan Wingo, and Staley are their preferred group, and the coaching staff hopes Staley kicks off the momentum. Wide receivers coach Kelsey Pope did an excellent job on Staley's official visit, as did the rest of the staff.

Staley was trending toward the Clemson Tigers for months, but sources say that Tennessee's offensive vision has given him something to consider. Staley stands about 6-1 and 180 pounds with track speed and a knack for the football. He excels at making catches along the boundary, a perfect fit for an offense that wants to attack outside the numbers. We will see where he ends up this afternoon, but the scheme fit here is too much to pass up for our prediction.
