George MacIntyre Commits To Tennessee
Tennessee has officially landed its priority quarterback in the 2025 class. Brentwood Academy quarterback George MacIntyre has officially announced his commitment to Tennessee and head coach Josh Heupel, choosing the Vols over Alabama.
MacIntyre stands 6-6 and 185 pounds with basketball athleticism and elite arm talent. The talented signal caller is a long-term Tennessee recruit whom Heupel and his staff offered back in August 2022. He was courted by several other major programs but decided that Tennessee was where he wanted to play college football.
MacIntyre is the sixth Tennessee commit in the 2025 class, the third on the offensive side of the football. He ranks as the No. 15 prospect in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports' Composite Rankings. MacIntyre checks in as the No. 3 overall quarterback behind LSU commit Bryce Underwood and USC commit Julian Lewis.
Landing the talented quarterback is great for many reasons, and one of them is for the people he could potentially bring with him. Tennessee has been in a good position with many top players in the nation, including five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr., four-star wide receiver Cameron Sparks, four-star wide receiver Marcus Harris, four-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham, and more. Landing a guy like MacIntyre will only help Tennessee build even more on their already solid 2025 class this season.
MacIntyre will join a quarterback room of Nico Iamaleava and Jake Merklinger in his first year at Tennessee, and the rest will be up in the air as the years come. The talented prospect is good enough to discuss who will start for the Volunteers after Iamaleava is gone. Tennessee will now have two reliable options from the past two classes following the Iamaleava recruitment.
