Ify Obidegwu Narrows Recruitment
The Tennessee corner room is one of the weaker spots on the roster. The Volunteers routinely let up explosive plays during their SEC schedule, and the coaching staff is looking toward future classes to restock the room.
Corner Kaleb Beasley is a firm pledge in the 2024 class, and he's one of the best man-cover corners in the country. They are looking to continue to stack the room, and corner Ify Obidegwu seems to be a big target for them.
Obidegwu recently cut his recruitment down to seven schools: Tennessee, Alabama, Maryland, Oregon, Michigan, Ohio State, and USC. The four-star Maryland product stands 6-1 and 185 lbs. with enough length to play at the next level.

Tennessee seems to be the No. 1 contender for Obidegwu's services. He's been in on multiple recruiting visits and is reportedly enthralled with the Knoxville atmosphere. Obidegwu is one of the most physically active defenders in high school football. He shrinks space exceptionally well, leveraging his body to maintain hip flexibility. Many high school corners tend to play over-aggressive when attacking, but Obidegwu's approach isn't destructive; it enables big plays for his defense.
