Marcus Harris Announces Three Junior Day Visits
Mater Dei four-star wide receiver Marcus Harris has garnered a lot of national attention during the past few weeks. The talented target is keeping an open mind in his recruitment but is reaching an important juncture. He has set up three junior day visits with programs of interests and confirmed the schedule with On3's Chad Simmons. He will travel to Knoxville, Tennessee, this weekend before heading out to the University of Miami on January 27 and a third trip to Alabama on February 3.
The talented pass catcher ranks as the No. 85 player in the 2025 cycle, according to the 247Sports' Composite Rankings. He caught 43 passes for 644 yards and six touchdowns for Mater Dei High School during his junior season. The 5-11.5, 180-pounder hasn't been to Knoxville, Tennessee, yet, so this could be a big opportunity for the coaching staff. The Texas Longhorns are making the biggest impression Harris thus far, and he told Simmons about that on a recent unofficial visit.
"I would describe the atmosphere as electric. I was able to see the fans for the first time and they were wild. They really love this team. It was nice being able to see the stadium sold out. It got really loud in there. One of the big highlights for me was my mom finally getting to see the campus and meet the coaches. Another one was being able to see how the receivers are used in the passing game." - Marcus Harris on Texas to On3's Chad Simmons
A big wrinkle in this recruitment could be the recent developments with five-star Brentwood Academy quarterback George MacIntyre. The Vols and Alabama are fighting for his commitment, and many think MacIntyre could come off the board in the coming weeks. With Alabama head coach Nick Saban retiring earlier in the week, Tennessee has seized a lot of the momentum in this one. If MacIntyre ends up choosing the Vols, it would help their case with several premium pass catchers in the class.
