Scouting Tennessee's Top 2024 Targets: Pharaoh Compton

An in-depth look at 2024 four-star power forward Pharaoh Compton, who the Tennessee Volunteers and several other high-majors are actively recruiting.

Pharaoh Compton is a power forward from Chandler, Arizona. He plays for Compass Preparatory High School and is a top-100 player in the 2024 recruiting cycle. He is a top 100 player in the 2024 class. He is also a top 15 power forward and a top ten player in Arizona.

He is a highly sought-after recruit by many top college hoops programs, including Tennessee, Iowa, Arizona State, LSU, San Diego State, etc. Compton has some unique athleticism that he uses in multiple ways. He is a big-time dunker with a nice vertical jumper for someone with a 200+ pound frame. He is very good on the wing in taking passes that lead to scoring opportunities.

Compton can also play in the post really well at all levels of the half-court space, whether it be high at the free-throw line or down low on the block. His aggressive play style then leads him to dunk it over defenders that can be even taller than him. Defensively, the athleticism comes back into play once again. Compton can use his great vertical to block opposing teams' shots all over the floor. He also can collect rebounds on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor with his bounce. If the Vols manage to land Compton, they will get an athletic big man who will add an aggressive nature to the game with emphatic dunks, active defense on shooters, and a knack for rebounding the ball at a high rate.
