Samari Matthews Re-Schedules Tennessee Visit

2026 five-star corner Samari Matthews (Cornelius, N.C.) has rescheduled a spring unofficial visit with the Tennessee Volunteers.
In this story:

William Amos Hough High School corner Samari Matthews is one of the top defenders in the 2026 cycle. He commands 29 offers from some of the top programs in the country. Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, USC, and others are names in this recruitment.

Matthews had initially set up a rough visit schedule for the spring but had to alter some plans. He will now be in Knoxville, Tennessee, on April 1, which will be on the latter half of his spring visit tour. It will be his first trip to Rocky Top; the Vols were Matthews's third offer.

He ranks as the No. 32 prospect in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports' Composite Rankings. Matthews tallied 25 tackles and an interception during his sophomore season. Top programs continue to enter the picture here, and a big plus in Tennessee's favor is that they were in early and have continued to push with the same energy throughout his early time in high school.
