Tennessee An "Early Favorite" For Jared Smith
2025 four-star edge rusher Jared Smith (Alabaster, Ala.) is high on several SEC programs, including the Tennessee Volunteers.
Thompson High School edge rusher Jared Smith continues to draw attention from the Vols. They offered him on May 3, 2022, and have held constant communication since then. Smith has been on campus four times and has an official visit lined up with them for the weekend of June 14.
247Sports' Grant Hughes broke down the competition for Smith right now, who has official visits lined up to Georgia, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, and USC. Hughes confirmed that he may make a few other trips, but currently, that looks like the field for the elite pass rusher. He ranks as the No. 39 prospect in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports' Composite Rankings, and the No. 2 edge rusher.
"It's shaping up to be a dogfight for Smith, an elite EDGE prospect with a stacked offer list. Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and USC are the early favorites. He visited Los Angeles in February and has trips scheduled to Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee this summer before making a return trip to USC on June 21. He's also expected to visit Ole Miss and Florida State. Smith's recruitment will likely stretch into his senior season." - 247Sports' Grant Hughes on Jared Smith
