Tennessee Checks On Trent Wilson
Tennessee defensive line coach Rodney Garner is nationally recognized as one of the top defensive assistants in college football. He scours the country for elite prospects on the defensive front that can enhance what the Vols' are building on defense. One name he's been after is Dr. Henry Wise High School defensive lineman Trent Wilson, the No. 110 prospect in the 2025 cycle, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.
Tennessee sent senior defensive analyst Levorn Harbin, or "Coach Chop" as he is known be recruits, to Dr. Henry Wise to see Wilson on Tuesday. He's one of their top recruiters on the staff, and it's telling he made the trek out to Maryland to see the talented defensive lineman.
Wilson has been to Knoxville, Tennessee, once for an unofficial visit. He stopped by on April 1, 2023, and that visit stuck with him. Wilson trimmed his list down to eight schools on Tuesday, and Tennessee found themselves in that group. He will focus on Florida, Florida State, Maryland, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, and Texas A&M moving forward. He explained his list to On3's Chad Simmons, which you can read here. See what he had to say about Tennessee below.
"When I went there, I had a great time on my visit. The coaches came to my school twice in the past two weeks to talk to me. They have a great plan for me, and they’ve shown me that. The coaches keep showing me they want me, and that means a lot." - Trent Wilson on Tennessee to On3's Chad Simmons
