Breaking Down Tennessee Two Top-100 Commits

The future looks bright for head coach Rick Barnes and company, which has embodied the idea of rebuild and reload. The case remains with two four stars coming to Rocky Top.
In this story:

Since Rick Barnes was hired as Tennessee's head basketball coach in 2015, Tennessee's basketball recruiting has risen yearly. In Barnes' time at Tennessee, 6 five stars have come through the program. The Vols have also had a top-15 recruiting class for the past three years.

In this time span, players like Julian Phillips, Brandon Huntley-Hatfield, and Keon Johnson have worn the orange and white, and all were five-star recruits coming out of high school.

Now, in the present day, the Vols are continuing that tradition with another talented recruiting class. Tennessee's class is ranked 15th among all teams and 2nd in the SEC behind only Kentucky.

The class includes three players who have signed letters of intent. This includes three-star Cade Phillips from Branson, Missouri. It also includes two four-star recruits, JP Estrella and Cameron Carr.

Camden Carr

Carr is on the same team as Phillips in Branson, Missouri, called Link Academy, one of the top teams in the country. He is a big 6-foot-4-inch shooting guard who can be creative with the basketball at that size. He is athletic as all get out and will only get more athletic as his strength improves.

Scouts have talked about his smooth shooting form he possesses for a player his size. In the EBYL tournament, he went an astounding 94.4% from the free throw line

JP Estrella

Estrella is a tall 6-foot-11 center from Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH. He is the 6th best center in the 2023 class, also getting offers from Syracuse, Iowa, and Marquette. Scouts have admired Estrella's great footwork and movement for a player of his size

This footwork and movement make him a dangerous presence in the low post. He rebounds well and is a hard worker on defense. He also is said to be able to knock down outside jumpers fairly often, which opens up a whole new aspect of his game.
