Tennessee Offers Another 2025 QB, What It Means

The Tennessee Volunteers offered an uber-talented quarterback in KJ Lacey on Monday.
In this story:

Quarterback KJ Lacey has already accomplished a lot in his high school career. He assumed the starting role as a sophomore at Saraland High School in Alabama and immediately became a star.

He threw for 3,177 yards and 40 touchdowns with just five interceptions while leading Saraland to a state title. Lacey may be the top young signal caller in the southeast, and his recruitment is beginning to take off.

Lacey has 19 offers, with 11 coming since the conclusion of last season. He added a Tennessee offer on Monday, and the Volunteers have high interest in him.

Head coach Josh Heupel initially zeroed in on three 2025 quarterbacks: George MacIntyre, Antwann Hill, and Cutter Boley. However, Lacey may have added his hat to the ring.

It will be tough to pull him away from Alabama. The Crimson Tide offered him on Saturday, which is reportedly his dream offer. Nonetheless, Tennessee must be in high pursuit here.

His quarterback trainer David Morris owns Quarterback Country, one of the country's most reputable quarterback training establishments. He told AL.com that Lacey "has NFL arm talent right now.”

Here is Morris's full quote on Lacey.

"Honestly, I think he has a chance to be the best to ever come out of here (Mobile). He has an incredible combination of accuracy, anticipation, and arm strength. He’s real even-keeled, really smart. He doesn’t take long to get in a rhythm. KJ is one of those guys that makes it all look easy, which is one of those traits the really special ones have. He’s really good.
