There was always bound to be some growing pains early in the season for a Texas Longhorns replacing seven of their nine starters from a historic offense.

Despite that, though, the expectations surrounding those who don the burnt orange and white remain the same - make it Omaha and look to bring home the seventh national championship in program history.

After dropping a weekend series to Cal State Fullerton, those aforementioned growing pains were on full display. The offense wasn't clicking yet and saw strong pitching performances squandered.

Instead of calling it a lost season however, the Longhorns returned home for a lengthy 14-game home stand which they hoped would get them back on track. Well, it is safe to say they are safely back on track.

A sweep of the Texas Tech Red Raiders saw them cap off a perfect 14-0 home stand, and break into D1Baseball's top 25 for the first time this season. To put the cherry on the top of the sundae for Texas, it finds itself at No. 21 and one spot ahead of the Red Raiders who fell from No. 14 to No. 22 following the sweep.

Now, the Longhorns are set to hit the road for the first time since that series loss to Cal State Fullerton as they have four straight road games. First, a date with rival Texas A&M on Mar. 28 follow by a three-game conference series against Oklahoma State from Mar. 31-Apr. 2.

While the 14-game winning streak is impressive, it also makes a reminder necessary that the season is far from over. The Longhorns have plenty of momentum, now they must make sure to keep building and rise up the rankings as a result.
