Longhorns Seeking First Win in Midweek Game Against TAMUCC

The Longhorns are hoping to avoid an ugly 0-4 start when the Islanders come to town on Tuesday.

It is officially game day once again and the Texas Longhorns are still looking for their first win of the season following an 0-3 showing in the College Baseball Showdown to open the season.

While an 0-3 start is far from ideal it is also far from a death knell to what this team can accomplish. We have plenty of season left to right the ship, with the first opportunity to do so coming on Tuesday night against Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

The Longhorns return home from Arlington with five straight home games, and kicking off the home stand will be a midweek matchup against the Islanders.

Now, look no further than here for everything you need to know about the game, from how to watch to a breakdown of Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

Texas A&M Corpus Christi wins this game if...

They can shut down the Longhorns offense, which has not been hard to do so far this season. Yes, this answer might seem like a cop out, but until the Longhorns' bats actually show signs of life consistently that's what it will be. If they can get it together, though, the potential for the lineup is there.

Texas wins this game if...

The pitching staff can keep a hot Islanders' lineup in check. Texas' offense has been nothing to write home about, and as such pitching has had to carry the load. If they can shut down the Islanders offense it could give the offense more chances to find their footing and get rolling after an ugly showing in Arlington.
