Longhorns' Schedule for Stanford Super Regional Revealed
After the Texas Longhorns swept through the Coral Gables Regional, beating the Miami Hurricanes No. 1 seed (No. 9 national seed) in two straight games, they advanced to the super regional and awaited their next opponent.
They were paired up with the Stanford Regional, hosted by the No. 8 national seed Stanford Cardinal. While there was a chance the Longhorns could face the Texas A&M Aggies and even potentially host a super regional, the Cardinal got the job done on Monday night.
Now, the Longhorns will be going from the east coast in Florida all the way to the west coast in California to face the Cardinal for a chance to return to the College World Series.
On Tuesday the NCAA revealed the super regional schedule, with the Longhorns and Cardinal kicking their matchup off on Saturday.
NCAA Stanford Super Regional Schedule
Game 1: Saturday, June 10, 2023: Game 1 @ 5 p.m. CT (ESPN2)
Game 2: Sunday, June 11, 2023: Game 2 @ TBD
Game 3: Monday, June 12, 2023: Game 3 @ TBD (if necessary)
Getting past Stanford will be much easier said than done, as the Cardinal boast one of the best offenses in college baseball. However, if Lucas Gordon and Lebarron Johnson Jr. match their outings from the regional then the Longhorns have a good shot at making it Omaha for the 39th time in program history.
