It has been quite the weekend for rookie Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy.

Friday afternoon, the star rookie was arrested in Georgetown, TX, just outside of Austin, for the alleged assault, only to have the charges dropped by the Williamson County authorities later that day.

Worthy took to X Sunday morning to share his thoughts in his first post since the incident occurred.

Worthy would also take to Instagram to speak his mind on the matter, a post on his story that only read the words, "New beginnings," and saw a freshly buzzed Worthy, sans his dreadlocks he rocked throughout his collegiate career and first year in the NFL.

From the drama that receiver Rashee Rice brought Kansas City last year to a battery investigation against then-Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill back in 2019, Worthy's incident just adds to the list of off-field issues that Andy Reid's team continues to deal with.

Thankfully, with the charges already dropped against the 2024 first-round pick, the worst of this whole ordeal seems to be over, and Worthy should be able to get back to work with Kansas City once training camp rolls back around in the summertime.

Filling the role of speedy receiver for Andy Reid after he was drafted with the 28th overall pick last year, Worthy emerged as a top receiver for Patrick Mahomes, especially after Rice tore his ACL early last season, leading the team to their eight consecutive AFC Championship game and third consecutive Super Bowl, taking a 40-22 loss in the latter to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Worthy's 59 receptions and 638 receiving yards were both second on the team only to tight end Travis Kelce, good company to be kept in when starting out in Kansas City.

Worthy scored nine total touchdowns on the season, including three on the ground, showing off his speed that set the fastest recorded 40-yard dash time ever.
