Byron Murphy II Tabs Texas LB Anthony Hill As The Next Big Thing For Longhorns
Ever since Steve Sarkisian took over as the head coach of the Texas Longhorns, the program has not only been recruiting and acquiring talent at a high level, but maximizing their potential as well.
Texas has never had talent acquisition issues, but what they did with the talent when they got on campus was a different story. Sarkisian's staff has done a great job of getting the most out of just about everyone, which is only proven to be more true when you look at their NFL Combine participants. Texas sent nearly a dozen players to the NFL Combine, but it was someone not there making headlines.
That someone is linebacker Anthony Hill.
When asked who would be the next Longhorn to make some noise at the NFL Combine, projected first-round pick Byron Murphy II tabbed the former five-star.
"When it's time for him to come do this process, I feel he's going to be a first-round guy. Just be on the lookout for him," said Murphy of Hill.
This shouldn't come as a surprise to Texas fans as Hill burst onto the scene immediately for the Longhorns. He had a breakout game Week 2 against Alabama, and will be a building block of the future for the defense. On the year he finished with 67 total tackles, five sacks, which was second on the team by half a sack, and also forced a fumble.

He has that SEC speed that Texas needs as they move on from the Big 12, and can make plays all over the field. The best part? The Longhorns have him for two more seasons, and there is likely another level he can hit.
He is on track to be the next elite Texas defender.
