Bijan to Big D? Cowboys Pick Up Robinson in NFL Mock Draft
Drafting a running back in Round 1 of the NFL Draft has become a bit of an old fashion tactic, with many believing the position is no longer worth a first-round value.
As such, many teams are beginning to shy away from drafting running backs early on, with future contracts and durability sitting at the focal point of many of those decisions.
However, Bijan Robinson of the Texas Longhorns may just buck that trend in the 2023 draft.
In their most recent mock draft, CBS Sports has the superstar running back staying in the Lone Star State with the Dallas Cowboys at No. 26 overall, where he would replace the recently released Ezekiel Elliott.

Dallas franchise tagged Tony Pollard. It could theoretically move on from him after one season, opening the door for Bijan Robinson to take over. In the short term, Pollard and Robinson form a dynamic duo.
As it currently stands, the Cowboys have Tony Pollard leading the way in the backfield, after the Memphis product signed the franchise tag to stay in Dallas for another season.
Of course, the franchise tag only guarantees Pollard in Dallas for one more season, meaning that he could conceivably walk next offseason.
Either way, bringing in Robinson to the new-look Dallas offense would be a fantastic fit.
Robinson has rushed for 1,158 yards and 12 touchdowns this season while adding 314 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 19 receptions through the air.
And his ability to be a versatile piece in the offense could entice the Cowboys to buck the current trend on running backs.
