Former Michigan OC Reveals How Wolverines Fumbled Xavier Worthy Into Texas' Hands
The biggest story in college football and the NFL right now is Texas receiver Xavier Worthy.
The California native has been a star for the Texas Longhorns the past three years, and on Saturday he put the NFL on notice. If NFL fans weren't aware of who he was before this weekend, they all know now. Texas' speedy wideout ended up breaking the record for fastest 40-yard dash with a blazing 4.21.
While Longhorns fans loved every second of Worthy in Austin, there is one program that will forever regret missing out on him. That program is none other than Michigan.
Former Michigan offensive coordinator Josh Gattis appeared to be the scapegoat for losing Worthy for Michigan fans. Something he appeared to be tired of hearing, and denounced in a social media rant saying it was actually the admissions department's fault.
“It’s time this Bs ends. The slander has crossed the line for too long,” Gattis wrote on Twitter. “Don’t make excuses for admission…. Or how about look into being on campus during covid. Want to keep on?”
He continued, citing a miscommunication between the future star and admissions about taking the ACT.
"Sounds like you need others to speak for you,” Gattis said. “I’ve taken the high road too long while you & others slander my integrity & family.
“Ask why Admissions said they wouldn’t require a ACT but denied mid year because of a ACT 4 days before enroll. Do you want the violations too? Emails?”
Gattis ended up leaving Ann Arbor for Miami shortly after this debacle which only added to the fans' rage.
Regardless, it is all in the past now. Worthy ended up a Longhorn, leaving the program as one of the best receivers in program history.
