Texas football: Breaking down the depth chart ahead of season opener

Tom Herman and his staff released their first depth chart of the season, clearing up a few position battles as we head into the 2019 campaign.
Here are a few takeaways from the first Texas depth chart.
Parker Braun and Junior Anghilau are going to battle into the season at left guard
Texas coaches and players have raved about Parker Braun's skills since he arrived on the Forty Acres, but he hasn't been able to separate himself from redshirt freshman Junior Angilau quite yet. The Georgia Tech transfer was first-team All ACC last season and was expected by most to take the starting spot before the beginning of the season, but is currently listed as an "OR" alongside Angilau.
Braun could end up becoming a multiple jack of all trades on the line as Herman didn't seem happy with his quality of depth up front during his Monday press conference.
Meanwhile Angilau's ability to stay in this race has to bode well for the future. The only potential offensive line starter to without an official start under his belt may very well change that on Saturday.
It's Jalen Green, then everybody else at corner
Herman said as much during his press conference, but it's worth noting that Anthony Cook is listed behind Green at one cornerback spot while Kobe Boyce and D'Shawn Jamison are filed under the "OR" provision on the other side.
Cook came into the season with one start under his belt and was expected by many to take the spot across from Green before it was all said and done, but none of those three have been able to pull away and earn the right to be called a starter according to Herman.
Texas seems to trust Green to carry out its scheme, but one weak link in the secondary can be a nightmare in the Big 12. It's obvious they are hoping this situation plays itself out quickly and someone makes some plays in-game to claim the other starting spot.
Texas feels really good about its young nose tackles
There are a pair of redshirt freshmen atop the depth chart at nose with 6-foot-2, 340-pound Keondre Coburn a clear starter and 6-foot-3, 280-pound Moro Ojomo the clear No. 2. They check in ahead of a pair of upper classmen in Gerald Wilbon and D'Andre Christmas-Giles. It clearly speaks to the talent and quick development of these two young blue chippers to pass up a guy like Wilbon, who has started one game and played in several during his Texas career.
